I’ve contacted the developer on several occasions about Instashare no longer transfering files between iOS 8 on an iPad and OS X 10.9.5 and I’ve yet to receive a response. This program is worthless to me now. Too bad….. It was good when it worked.

This program was installed on my MBP 2011 and it worked flawlessly! Thank YOU! Apple won’t do this with airdrop so I’m glad this works.
Great, solid update for both iOS and OS X. I’m glad that now there is now a dark-mode Menubar icon, which makes cough…Caffeine…cough to be the only holdout/non dark-mode icon in my Menubar.
I have a Mac Mini running Lion and before the update it was working great. now I miss the app.
THought I would try this app inspite of the mixed reviews as airdrop doesn’t work for me. Well this is one bugger app. I can transfer about 2 out of 5 photos. You get a lot of transfer cancled by other side error messages. Forget about sending anything large and by large I mean anything bigger then 3 megs. You will get the transfer cancelled by other side error. Wish I could get my money back this is not ready for prime time and they have the nerve to ask for .99 on the iPhone app to get rid of ads. Fix this app guys the 1 stars are adding up. UPDATE 10/21/14: I was hoping their recent update would fix this already horrible app I wasted money on. To my surprise they were albe to make a horrible app even worse. DO NOT BUY it is un-usable. Broken pipe errors, other side cancelled transfer errors, broken download folder error. I have only gotten a couple of pictures to transfer and ZERO videos. PLEASE GIVE ME A REFUND.
This is ridiculous. I paid for and downloaded this app and it does not even open on OSX 10.7.5. It quits instantly. Dont buy, this is terrible.
10.8.5 / MacBook Pro Talk about not testing your updates. This app is as buggy as it gets.
the application does not work as expected when transfering files from my iphone to my mac. All of my devices are up to date, same wifi, bluetooth on, but either my mac is not visible on my iphone, or when it eventually shows up, the file transfer crashes most of the time. This app needs improvement.
The app is beautiful. The UI is intutive but I can’t understand why it’s takes 2 min to down load a 1.5 MB file over wifi. I have shared folders over wifi and transfer rates for a 1.5mb file is a few seconds. What’s the point of this app when it’s so slow?
When I first got this app it was awesome, worked like a charm. Then they did something to it and now it absolutely does not work what so ever in any way shape or form. So save your money, dont get this app and look for something else.
Ive been trying to use this for several years. Its always something. It has NEVER worked reliably. All kinds of errors and fails. The logs dont add any insight. NOW, eventhough I paid for an add-free version on my phone i am getting adds! It says "Upgraded to ADs free version" while showing me ads!!! This app has one function…transfer files to/from my phone to my iMac. It works only 1 out of 10 times. Running iOS 8.3 and ML 10.8.5.
The iOS app doesn’t always see my Mac immediately upon opening the app directly, but it does show up within a second or two. However, it sometimes vanishes from view sporadically which is obviously frustrating when I need it to appear. But that could all be caused by my particular connection: my iPad connects to my home network via Airport WiFi, while my Mac is wired to my Time Capsule through a powerline adapter. Combined with the iOS app and the iOS 8 integration with other apps, it’s a full-featured combination—but it costs twice as much for the combo compared to Filedrop (which seems a worthy competitor at $3) with a $5 tag on the Mac app and a $1 freemium tag on the iOS one (in order to remove the ads).
I originally posted a negative review of this applicaiton. I found the single setting that allows the application to work correclty. I think I deleted the original review. If not, this review should take precedence. This application solves a problem I have had with my iPhone since I first started down the path with Apple. Why Apple hides the fact that the iPhone is just a file system, that could be mounted on the mac, and accessable for pulling and pushing media assets to and from the device, is beyond me. In any case, it’s a pain to get pictures off your iPhone to my Mac. This application solves that problem. I recommend it, and now use it regularly.
It didn’t help at all. Wish I had not bought it.
Bought Mac and iPad versions…need a way to share .aif files…the wireless sync with iTunes is worthless… I am watching the .aif file getting transferred now for over an hour. Seriously? Did the developers even test this app? I want my money back. Moon Dog
