Instashare - Transfer files App Reviews

I used the beta versions of this app for months on 5 computers, and while not perfect they were generally fine. This v. 1.0.1 of is a step backward into non-functionality. Im unable to transfer files at all, despite having changed nothing on my computer or network since the beta versions worked. Wait for another version with a major fix or find an alternative

It’s not cheap so it should be 100% working but I found two bugs that are annoying. First bug is that you can only use default folder (Downloads), if you select any other folder for transfered files and then restart your Mac, you get info that folder was changed back to Downloads because there is an issue with folder you chosen. Another problem is transfering many files. If you choose more than couple files, transfer is hanging and all you can do is to cancel transfer and choose less files.

This app is announced as Innstashre 1.1.0. But after downloading and installing this app has the version 1.0.30!!!

Can’t directly upload files to ios app, Need to reopen the app to get them visible there.

Nice! Things I would add: - Preference for automatically open Safari with the transferred URL (aka detect http protocol) - Preference for automatically open Finder to the transferred file - Handle multiple screens correctly (the UI appear on the main screen, not on the other one when clicked from it) Thanks!

Like most of the other reviewers, I used the beta for months, and absolutely loved it. I used it virtually every day to share files in my office, as it was so much better than AirDrop. After the beta expired, I bought full release since it was such a great app. Since day 1, the paid app has been an absolute disaster. I get errors virtually every time I try to send files. Would love to get a refund, because when a file sharing app doesn’t let you share files, it’s pretty useless. Back to AirDrop for now until they get it fixed.

in the demo, Instashare is quite good. However, after purchased the app, it cannot work and recognize my iPhone.Fix it quickly.

Not sure what is causing the problems for other people, but after using the beta version, I installed this current version and it works just fine with no issues. I love this app for getting files from my device to my computer.

Tried newest version. Does not work on bluetooth, even though it advertises that it does. It does work on WiFi, but that is not why I wanted to try it. Customer service gives you a 404 error. Can I get my money back?

I am so happy I found this app. It does what Apples “Airdrop” FAILS to do, which is allow me to transfer photos back n forth between my phone and Macbook instantly. I have Mavericks installed on my Macbook and iOS 7 on my phone and Im not having any problems at all like some of the other users are having. My original review above was when the app worked great. The last 3 days, no matter what I try to transfer it says “file trasnfer stopped”. Nothing will transfer.

This used to work perfectly before but with the recent update on Mac, transfer to an ipad has become impossible. I was wondering why it is taking time for the developer to fix the issue. Fix it now please!

Just bought this and it DOES NOT WORK unless I’m stupid (which is always possible). Developer and Apple please read. 2009 iMac OS X 10.9, 3.06Ghz, Dual Core, 4 gigs ram.

I’m not sure why others are having trouble, the app works flawlessly on all my devices (ipad mini, iphone, ipad, imac, macbook air). This is the app that apple should have integrated into all their ios and Mac os devices! Love it!

The mac app won’t update. After several attempts it remains 1.0.30. Bluetooth transfer between mac and iOS devices doesn’t work.

Love the concept, the UX, and the product (when it works). Unfortuntately, on my setup (latest iphone and latest macbook pro retina) 8 out of 10 attempts result in the transfer failing or crashing. The idea is so great though that I keep trying, hoping that InstaShare will finally work. I hope they can figure out how to make it reliable.

Just installed the app (both Mac and iPhone) and it worked perfectly transfering fairly large files. No fuss, no muss. Just easy transfer. I’m using 1.1.1 so can’t comment on previous hassles. But from my take, the best $3 I’ve spent in a while.

I was looking for something to use in lieu of AirDrop with and iPad 2…. The iPad to iPhone will work, but MAC to iPad will not…. Won’t even find any devices, all with bluetooth on, and all on the same wifi network… $2.99 is not a lot, but it is definately $2.99 too much for this poor attempt at an app...

I had the beta version and it worked perfectly. Paid for this version when it came out and doesnt work at all it wont send anything to my phone. Wish i could get my money back its completly useless now. Every update they release (which is what one now??) doesnt do anything to fix my issues. definitely dont even consider buying

I am always puzzled when I see a product get more 1 and 5 stars reviews than 2, 3, and 4 star reviews combined. After installing this app I now understand. If I were to rate this product when it is working I would give it a 5 star rating. However, since in my experience it works less than 50% of the time I gave it less than 50% of a 5 star rating. You guys are onto a great idea, please finish it and make it robust. Software that crashes as often as this is a complete waste of my time.

I have been trying to set up my iPhone5 with my iMac for the last hour, wifi and bluetooth. Neither is working. I bought the desktop and moblie app. I want a refund I can’t tranfer anything! I am sick of Apps that do not work!
